Episode 2 - Tied together

The mysterious place which we slept and ate at with Elvish and Mumsford, didn't make any sense to me. Closed doors that didn't lead to our rooms led to brick walls, so we were trapped and forced to sleep for an undetermined time until our hosts decided we were ready to move on.

When we all awoke, Elvish led us to a room to be armed and rationed, he pulled Kit aside and asked her to stay behind for a few days. Then Elvish informed the rest of us that the door on the opposite side of the room, would lead us just three days off from Bartertown. As we walked out the door the entire place vanished behind us and we were in the middle of a mountain range. So we headed towards town to the Green Griffin.

Chen was clearly a master of many things, and Sprohgsarpe, his apprentice, gladly accepted us once we mentioned Elvish's name. Elvish and Kit were in the corner waiting for us, so Chen led us behind a hidden wall in the back, and down a winding staircase to our quarters.

"You need your rest for your training."

That night I dreamt about the day of my death. But this time it was different, I remembered the taste of regret and closed the inner doors myself to the kaer first, instead of my last stand outside. This time, the horror rushed me inside the entrance and in a valiant effort, I remembered how I had failed before, I sensed that this time was different and rectified my mistake of my death, defeating the horror like a hero in an legendary epic. The realization occurred to me, as the steam rose from his lifeless body, that I had defeated him in my newly acquired elven form. I now understood why it had been written down in history that the mighty Keebler Elf was actually an elf. They had brought back the legend of Keebler, which now, had masterly defeated a horror as both a male and an elf in a backwards, paradoxical kind of way.

When I awoke and rose for breakfast, Kaylee asked me if I had a strange dream last night. When I agreed that I had and it had felt right, and very much real, she agreed. The room grew quiet and the rest of the party piped up that they too, had the very same feeling about the dream. When we asked Elvish about it he grew rather worried, looked over at Mumsford who to my surprise had been sitting there the entire time. After mumbling incoherently for few seconds, he stood up and in a grandiose gesture he lifted his arms as if tying all the lose threads in the room together. He then sat down and mumbled about a peanut butter sandwich.

"Yesh, well, Mumsford said that it won't happen again, as you are all now tied to these pendants of the present." How do you get that from peanut butter sandwich???

Episode 1 - As told by Keebler Wasdwarven

Of course it was the most interesting breakfast of my life. As Elvish invited us to sit, the windling requested a windling size highchair to be drawn up to the table. Elvish just laughed and told her to touch the chair. She looked a bit skeptical but realized that when she touched the chair, it instantly changed to the windling size and height requirements needed to be seated at the same table as the rest of us. She was rather delighted by this and proceeded to play tricks on Elvish and touch his chair for chance to make him fall. However, being his butt was actually in the chair, nothing happened and she disappointedly sat down with the rest of us.

I was a bit confused by all of this, last I had checked, my last memory was of me fighting and losing my life to a horror. I realized unfortunately that I was not able to save the lives of the people inside, in an attempt at a last stand in front of the doors of the kaer. In a bitter disappointment not tasted in death, the realization of letting lose a horror in the caves of all those people swept over me. Nothing was as horrible or shocking as that.

But this morning came close, as I looked in the mirror after I had woken up and saw a male elf staring back at me.

I'm obviously a dwarf. Well at least I was. This must be an illusionists trick as I was clearly a female dwarven horrorstalker before. Keebler Elf fought horrors her entire life, I thought stubbornly, as I looked up at Elvish and asked what happened. He gave me a confused shrug, as he looked sideways at Mumsford, who mumbled about "threads crossed" "legends" and "Peanut Butter Sandwiches."

"Mumsford indicates that you, little lady, ahem... well the legends of you are that you were an elf, and we sort of assumed you were male." "My last name is Elf!!!" I objected. I watched him rather skeptically as he looked down and realized that Kaylee had shrunken his plate to windling size when he wasn't looking. He pointed at the troll and said, "Would you mind, huh..." and pointed at his plate suggestively. Garok reached out and touched his plate silently, increasing it to gargantuan proportions. Who would want that much pork chop for breakfast?

Elvish dug in, careful not to touch the plate and quickly subverted the subject to encourage us to travel to the Green Griffin, a pub in Bartertown to meet Chen and Sprohgsarpe. Elvish believes they can help us in our quest to save the tainted Obsidman Liferock. Of course he believed that I was an elf too...

Episode 1 - The Quest of Schlekshana

Everyone woke up in a moderate size room in a four post bed. There are two sets of clothes on the dresser. Travelers garb and a set of elegant clothing. Take your pick.

In the hallway there is an obsidiman named Elvish. He invites everyone to dine with him in the main room down the hall. A sort of kooky, knock off, kind of personality, from a place called Earth, who loves his pork chops. Not sure if he loves his hair from the sides of his face or his meat more.

In the dining hall the whole party greets and meets one another. There is a large eight foot troll named Garok grunts in the corner of the room. Kaylee, a small windling scout, is touching chairs and plates, giggling as they change size. A T'Skrang Troubadour whose three part name is extremely long and obscure, like most T'Skrang names are, invites everyone to call her Kit. Slade, an elven illusionist, is suspiciously eyeing everyone in the room. An elven swordmaster, Keebler, is obviously harried and confused. And there is Mumsford the Magician of an nondescript race and discipline eating at the table.

Elvish invites everyone to sit and eat breakfast as a woman suddenly appears in the room to tell a story...

Most of you have died a long time ago, some are still alive today, but you have been brought to the year of 1501. I have chosen each one of you to find six statues made of Obsidiman liferock near Lake Ban. A Theran Behemoth airship landed and tainted this same liferock. Only the six statues would be able to restore life to it to untrap the obsidimen inside.

It is the Goddess Schlekshana who came down herself to give the adventurers this grandiose and perilous quest.
